I did not make any deposit in Jordan bank : Sehgal

New Delhi: Andaleeb Sehgal on Sunday broke his silence on his name figuring in the Volcker Committe report and denied that he got any contracts from the Iraqi government for the sale of oil.

Mr. Sehgal, a friend of External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh's son, Jagat Singh, said in a statement: "I have had no business dealings with either the Congress party or Natwar Singh or his son, Jagat Singh."

He also denied making any deposit, either personally or through his company, Hamdan Exports, into the Jordan National Bank.

"It is absolutely incredible, outrageous and untrue that I made or could have made a deposit of some amount in Jordan National Bank. I am not aware where this Jordan National Bank is located," he said. — PTI
