PJR demands Deputy Chief Minister post for Telangana region
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Former CLP leader and Khairatabad MLA P. Janardhan Reddy has demanded that the post of Deputy Chief Minister be revived immediately and a senior leader from Telangana appointed to it.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy in a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Sunday expressed anguish at the war of words for and against Telangana Statehood. He called for a halt to the unwarranted debate being raised by forces traditionally opposed to the Congress party.
He said as AICC president Sonia Gandhi was already seized of the matter, party workers should take care in speaking on Telangana. He felt that the Government should pro-actively initiate certain corrective measures to assuage the hurt feelings of Telangana people.
