No breakthrough in Greater Kailash-1 murder case

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The police were yet to make any breakthrough in the double murder case in which an 82-year-old man and his 78-year-old wife were stabbed to death at Greater Kailash-I in South Delhi on Saturday.

According to police sources, a hunt has been launched for the part-time driver, who had apparently driven one of the deceased, S.D. Khosla, to a nearby bank for the last time. A part-time maid and other people who knew the couple closely were also being questioned in connection with the murder.

On Saturday, some colleagues of Mr. Khosla, who worked as a consulting director in a private firm, had come to meet him when the incident came to light around 4 p.m.Mr. Khosla, who had been stabbed all over, was rushed to a nearby hospital and then to All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries. His wife, Santosh, who too had been stabbed, died on the spot.

The Khoslas were planning to leave for the United States, where their son was employed in a private firm, to attend his 50th birthday. The daughter of the couple was in Goa. She had been informed about the incident on Saturday.

The police so far suspect that the assailants were sure about where the valuables were kept. They had opened a couple of almirahs. However, the police were trying to find out why did the assailants leave behind several lakhs in cash which was later recovered by Mr. Khosla's relatives in the Santro car.

Further investigations in the case are on.
