SIDDHARTHNAGAR (UP): The deadly brain fever toll in eastern Uttar Pradesh mounted to 1,038 on Monday, with two more casualties being reported during the last 24 hours. The Additional Director (Health) in Gorakhpur, C. B. M. Tripathi, told UNI here that with 14 fresh cases, the total number of registered Japanese Encephalitis (JE) patients this year, in seven districts of Gorakhpur and Basti division of East UP, increased to 4,413. As many as 108 patients were being treated for the killer disease in various public hospitals of the region.- UNI
