Haryana panel on organ transplant

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has constituted separate authorisation committees for each district under the Transplantation of Human Organ Act, 1994, to help those seeking to donate or receive human organs. An official spokesman said here on Tuesday that this decision had been taken to save time of the people in either going to Rohtak or Chandigarh in this regard. He said each district-level committee would be headed by an Additional Deputy Commissioner.

The members would include a nephrologist or urologist or general surgeon or eye surgeon or concerned specialist district attorney and civil surgeon who would be member-secretary.
