Award for Sama

NEW DELHI: The Chairman of the Board of Management of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, S. K. Sama, has been awarded the Delhi Ratna Award in the medical category for the year 2005 by the All India Conference of Intellectuals (AICOI).

Dr. Sama received the award from former Governor and AICOI president Bhishma Narain Singh at the 24th Delhi State Annual Intellectuals Conference held on Sunday for his contribution in the field of medicine and his service to the community through Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

Water supply to be hit

NEW DELHI: Water supply in large parts of the Capital would be affected from 9 a.m. on Thursday to 3 a.m. on Friday on account of interconnection work at Wazirabad Crossing.

Shastri Nagar, Inder Lok, Anand Nagar, Tulsi Nagar, Subhadra Colony, Shahjada Bagh, Amba Bagh, Pratap Nagar, Gulabi Bagh DDA and Delhi Administration Flats, Bagichi Peerji, besides Nai Basti, Rama Park, Kashmiri Bagh, Bagh Kare Khan, Padam Nagar, East Moti Bagh, Vivekanand Puri and Railway Colony Kishan Ganj are expected to face a water shortage.

Water tankers will be available on telephone No. 23814338 (Chandrawal Water Emergency) and 23650040 (Shastri Nagar).

Award conferred

NEW DELHI: Scindia School, Gwalior, conferred the "Madhav Award-2005" on the Proctor and Gamble chairman and consultant on Strategy, Policy and External Relations, Bharat V. Patel, at a function here on Tuesday.

The award, in honour of eminent alumni of the Scindia School who have distinguished themselves in public life, is conferred annually on the school's Founder's Day.

"Madhav awardees have left indelible mark in every sphere of life like fine arts, broadcasting, armed forces, political life, social life, journalism and commerce," said Scindia School Principal N.K. Tewari.

Awareness week

NEW DELHI: To mark "Vigilance Awareness Week", Northern Railway employees took integrity pledges at a ceremony in Baroda House here on Monday.

The General Manager of Northern Railway, V.N. Mathur, who administered the pledge, observed that every railway employee must strive to maintain high ethical standards in his/her work.
