Music connoisseurs were regaled by renowned DJ Eddie Stats at Agni in The Park Hotel here on Tuesday. Eddie will also be delivering lectures to upcoming city DJs, besides college and school music students, in the days to come. The underlying objective of Eddie Stat's visit to India is to offer a glimpse of the popular DJ culture in America. Eminently qualified to speak about his first-hand insight into how Indian music has found a foothold in American discos, Eddie's other connection with the host country is that his better half happens to be an Indian. He has earned special recognition and success in bringing international sounds like Bhangra, Bollywood, Afrobeat and Reggae to the urban domain. A regularly featured guest at the Basement Bhangra and Bollywood Disco, Eddie has also performed alongside Bally Sagoo and DJ Rekha in New York's official Indian Independence Day celebrations. Veteran hip-hop and club DJ, Eddie has been much in demand at high-profile events like Levi's after-party for the MTV Video Music Awards. Madhur Tankha
