SPARKLING LIKE A DIAMOND: Actress Kajol at the launch of the new ASMI-Kajol diamond collections in New Delhi on Tuesday. Photo: Rajeev Bhatt
She believes in playing her cards close to the chest. This was clearly in evidence as Bollywood's leading actress Kajol Devgan answered with astuteness a volley of questions thrown at her at the launch of the "Asmi-Kajol" collection here on Tuesday from the stables of the Diamond Trading Company. Dressed in an immaculate white suit and sporting gleaming diamond jewellery, Kajol answered every query -- ranging from her film career to her role as a doting wife, besides her journey into motherhood -- succinctly. Asked which was her favourite film so far in her long innings in the Hindi film industry, pat came the reply: "I cannot name any one particular role that I cherish. Acting in every film has been a fantastic experience. To overcome boredom on the sets, I used to read a lot of books. These readings have helped me to educate myself about so many things in life. It has been a growing experience for me." When coaxed into giving points for her hit films, Kajol gave the maximum of 11 to "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", 10 points to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", followed by "Baazigar" to which she gave only nine points. Even though she has been rated as the Number One actress, Kajol gave only five points to her histrionic talent on the silver screen. Madhur Tankha
