Pondicherry: Secretary of the Pondicherry State committee of the Communist Party of India N. Kalainathan has urged the Administration to constitute a multi-departmental committee and adopt a coordinated approach in rushing relief to the people affected by rain in Pondicherry and Karaikal regions. Mr.Kalainathan told newsmen here on Monday that the two regions were pounded by heavy rain for past four days. Hence the Administration should distribute rice to each of the affected families besides cash assistance of Rs. 3,000.
