Ensure quality work, officials told

ZP Administrative Officer holds review meeting in Madikeri

Madikeri: Kodagu Zilla Panchayat Administrative Officer B.L. Sridhar, who reviewed the progress of the government departments on Tuesday, asked the officials to ensure quality work pertaining to development within the stipulated period.

The State Government's aim is to develop the region by initiating several programmes. Officials should not be lax in implementing them.

They should achieve the targets to make the programmes effective and fruitful, Mr. Sridhar said.

He asked the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies to submit a report to him in the next meeting over the share capital held by the cooperative societies in the district and the extent of loans taken by them from the Kodagu District Cooperative Central (KDCC) Bank.

The Assistant Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture said that only 19 government departments had submitted reports on the implementation of Kannada.

Mr. Sridhar, who took exception to this, called upon the rest to adhere to a timeframe and government instructions to submit the reports without delay.

The Deputy Director of Public Instruction told Mr. Sridhar that 22 students, above class VII, had come back to school under the "Marali Ba Shalege" scheme.

Strike

Mr. Sridhar visited the spot where members of the Adivasi Sangha, Kodagu, were on a hunger strike since Monday, demanding action against the officer of the Integrated Tribal Welfare Project (ITDP), for his alleged involvement in irregularities concerning funds meant for tribal welfare.
