Buddhadeb chides protesters
Kolkata:
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Tuesday criticised Left Front demonstrators, who on Monday blocked the arterial VIP Road to protest against the India-U.S. air exercise at Kalaikunda air base. Mr. Bhattacharjee said the protesters had not acted responsibly.
``Those organising the blockade should have kept in mind which road they were blockading. The blockade was organised without considering the circumstances,'' the Chief Minister told reporters at the State Secretariat when asked to comment on the matter.
Left Front chairman Biman Bose led the demonstration on the VIP Road. Traffic on the busy road, connecting the city with the NSC Bose International Airport, was thrown out of gear for more than an hour due to the agitation. — PTI
