U.N. extends mandate

UNITED NATIONS : The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday unanimously adopted a one-year extension of the mandate of the U.S.-led forces in Iraq. It voted to extend the mandate of the multinational forces, as set forth in Resolution 1546, till December 2006.
