ELURU: Collector Lav Agarval has directed Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) authorities to initiate stern action against those responsible for the rape of a student of a tribal welfare residential school at Ankannagudem. Speaking at a meeting to review the progress in investigation of cases relating to atrocities on SCs and STs, he instructed B. Dasarath, Project Officer, ITDA, Kotaramachandrapuram, to lodge a complaint with the police against the accused teacher and get him arrested immediately. When 280 cases of atrocities were reported in the district, 71 of them were under investigation, the Superintendent of Police, M. Jaganmohan Reddy, said.
