VISAKHAPATNAM: Hyderabad off-spinner Siva Prasad picked up five wickets and with good support from left-arm spinner Lalit Mohan restricted Tamil Nadu to 175 in its first innings in the round-robin match of the South Zone under-17 cricket tournament here on Wednesday. Praveen Srivatsan held the team together with a fine knock of 65 runs (4x11) in the face of Hyderabad's spin attack. Andhra found the going tough against Karnataka medium pacer Aditya B. Sagar, who claimed five wickets, and off-spinner K.P. Appanna. G.V.S. Prasad (42, 4x8) saved the day for the host and his 47-run stand for the ninth wicket with P.C. Murtuza (18 not out) helped the team score 132. Karnataka was comfortably placed at 117 for three at close. Kerala was struggling at 75 for five against Goa, still 170 runs behind. The scores: Tamil Nadu 175 in 78.5 overs (Praveen Srivatsan 65, Siva Prasad five for 35, Lalit Mohan three for 56) vs Hyderabad 34 for one in 14 overs. Andhra 132 in 53.1 overs (G.V.S. Prasad 42, Aditya B. Sagar five for 40, K.P. Appanna three for 37) vs Karnataka 117 for three in 38 overs (Karan Rao 45, Manish Pandey 41). Goa 243 in 78 overs (Girish Yadav 45, Ninand Pawaskar 34, Alok Shirodkar 34, Mahabaleswar 26, Surjit Manohar four for 42) vs Kerala 73 for five in 15.4 overs (Rajilal 28).
