Art school's annual exhibition

Over 2,000 paintings on various subjects will be on display

CHENNAI:
Sri Annai Kalai Kudam is holding its annual exhibition of student paintings at Lalit Kala Akademi from Sunday. This is the third annual exhibition for this art training institution with a student capacity of more than 2000 in its 20 branches in and around Chennai.
R. Shyamsundar, District Governor, Rotary International District 3230, will inaugurate the exhibition on Sunday at 11 a.m. Shashi Shyamsundar, Inner Wheel Chairman District 3230, Anuradha Ramanan, writer, Madan, cartoonist, and Vani Jayaram, singer, are some of the guests of honour. Participating artists include Jeyaraj and Shihan Hussaini. Over 2000 paintings on various subjects will be on display. Twenty per cent of the sale proceeds from the students' paintings and 50 per cent of that from the paintings of Venkatachalapathy, the artist behind the institution, will go towards the Rotary Club of Chennai Golden Star (provisional club). Artists and others interested in exhibiting paintings can contact Annai Kalai Kudam at 2474029 or 9381024002.
The exhibition will be on at Lalit Kala Akademi, 170, Greams Road, till November 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
