Intellectual star: Gopal Gandhi

Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi has expressed grief at the death of former President K. R. Narayanan in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In a condolence message here the Governor said, ``K. R. Narayanan was an intellectual star of the rarest sparkle. He was also a symbol of the renaissance, which Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru had initiated. Above all, he was a leader of an uncommon intellectual honesty, integrity and political tenacity. I express my deep condolences at his death.'' — UNI
