Blasts suspect brought to Delhi

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The alleged Hizb-ul-Mujahideen conduit, Ghulam Mohammad Mohiuddin, who was arrested at Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, was brought here on Wednesday for interrogation in connection with the serial blasts.

Transit remand

On Wednesday, Delhi Police Commissioner K.K. Paul said Mohiuddin had been brought to the capital on transit remand. "He would be taken to the explosion sites and certain other places for verification of his disclosures."

The police would question him regarding the whereabouts and the identities of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, who had planted the bombs at the Chheh Tuti Chowk in the Paharganj main bazaar on October 29.

Muhammed Iqbal, owner of the Delhi-Awantipura Transport Company at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, has also been picked up for questioning.

"We had not been informed about the [Mohiuddin's] arrest. After we came to know about it, we contacted the Jammu and Kashmir police and sought his custody for interrogation," Mr. Paul said.
