NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday summoned in person two senior officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi with a list of errant officials, serving and retired, who had allowed unauthorised constructions in their respective administrative jurisdiction over the years in the Capital. A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma directed MCD Additional Commissioner (Establishment) and Additional Commissioner (Engineering) to be present in the Court in person on November 30, the next date of hearing, to explain the matter. The Bench issued the directions on a public interest litigation by the DDA Market Welfare Association of Rohini and Pitampura. Directing the Registry to club all such petitions, the Bench said that the Court wanted the civic body to fix the responsibilities of its executive, assistant and junior engineers and impose penalties on them for allowing unauthorised constructions .
