NEW DELHI: Combining pleasure with a dash of charity to help disadvantaged children celebrate Children's Day differently this year, Delhiites are all set to sit down complete with silverware and fine china and eat for their poor under a unique initiative, "A la heart'', that seeks to motivate restaurants to donate a certain percentage of the billed amount to the cause they choose to support, including providing relief for children affected by the recent earthquake and the health programme in Delhi. This programme would be launched on Children's Day, November 14, at leading restaurants in Delhi like Chor Bizarre, Shalom Bar and Lounge, Laidback Waters, Olive Bar and Kitchen and Oriental Octopus, each of which will donate a percentage of their sales for the cause of disadvantaged children. This week-long programme is aimed at raising funds to support relief work for children in the earthquake-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan and for health needs of children at Seemapuri and Chauma village in Delhi. The health programme in Delhi for disadvantaged children is being done in collaboration with a non-government organisation, Youthreach. "The idea behind the initiative is to create spaces for people to make personal and collective contribution towards creating a world that is more humane and caring,''explained Sushmitha Paidi, manager of Youthreach
