The city police are bent on finding funds for putting up a series of spy cameras at different points in the city. The high cost is not holding the force back, as they are trying to find sponsors apart from utilising the modernisation funds. The enthusiasm in the higher ranks of the force is mainly due to the fact that the camera network will not just give an extra edge in controlling the law and order, but also help them maintain a close watch on their own force. During the trial run held last week, one police man was found not doing his duty in one of the main junctions in the city, leaving little doubt in the minds of officers about the efficacy of the system. It is only a procedural delay in securing funds that is holding up the project. .
