True tribute

The true tribute to the late President would be in trying to fulfil his progressive vision for the millions of the poor and deprived in India.

On August 31, 1997, Mr. Narayanan, then the President, replied to a letter of mine after correcting the date. He wrote: "Dear Friend, I thank you for your kind sentiments expressed on my assumption of office recently. K.R. Narayanan." I still have the letter.
