Pondicherry
Special Correspondent
Pondicherry: The Pondicherry based Federation for People's Rights has called upon the Administration to make public the contents of the report of the P. Venugopal commission of enquiry constituted by the Administration to go into the incident of death of three inmates of the Central Prison here in May this year. The secretary of the Federation, G. Sukumaran, said in a release here recently that the people were entitled to know of the contents of the report. The three inmates had allegedly died of consuming illicit and spurious brew. Mr. Sugumaran said the incident was a slur on the whole jail administration. The government should initiate steps to ensure that full security was available as per the Jail Manual to the inmates of the prison.
