Rich haul by Hyderabad

VISAKHAPATNAM: Hyderbad retained the men's, women's and junior boys' team titles in the 29th inter-district table tennis championships here on Thursday.

Visakhaptnam finished third in the men's section and runner-up in the junior boys' event.

While it was a repeat of last year's final in the men's section, between Hyderabad and Rangareddy, Krishna claimed the runner-up spot in the women's event after upsetting last year's runner-up Anantapur in the semifinals.

The results:

Team championships: Men's final: Hyderabad bt Rangareddy 3-0. Third place: Visakhaptnam bt East Godavari 3-0.

Semifinals: Hyderabad bt East Godavari 3-1; Rangareddy bt Visakhapatnam 3-2.

Women's final: Hyderabad bt Krishna 3-0. Third place: Anantapur bt Visakhapatnam 3-0.

Semifinals: Hyderabad bt Visakhapatnam 3-0; Krishna bt Anantapur 3-1.

Junior boys' final: Hyderabad bt Visakhapatnam 3-0. Third place: Krishna bt Anantapur 3-0.

Semifinals: Hyderabad bt Anantapur 3-0; Visakhapatnam bt Krishna 3-1.
