Deletions from BC list opposed

HYDERABAD: The State BJP and several Backward Classes organisations have demanded withdrawal of G.O. 23 deleting some communities from the BC list.

K. Laxman, BJP general secretary, in a statement issued here on Thursday, said that the party was opposed to the Government's proposal that was aimed at a "planned suppression of the Backward Classes to appease Muslims." It was not proper to resort to such a move at a time when social discrimination was still prevalent .
