K.R. Narayanan mourned

KOCHI: The Corporation Council of Kochi, on Friday, met to mourn the former President K.R. Narayanan. A resolution passed by the council said that his service to the nation would be considered a prime contribution of Kerala to modern India. He had risen from the environs of poverty and untouchability to reach the highest status an Indian citizen could attain.

Mayor Mercy Williams moved the resolution. Deputy Mayor C.K. Manisankar and councillors spoke.
