Bangalore: Dayanand's hat-trick (37th, 42nd and 45th minutes) helped South Western Railway (SWR) defeat Aristrocrat 5-3 in a State `C' division hockey league match here on Sunday. Srikant and Jitendra also scored for the winner while Yeshwant, Benedict and Philip chipped in for Aristrocrat. In another match, Avinash's hat-trick guided SBM Jain College to an 8-2 victory over Adiyaman Engineering College. Manikanth (3), Somanna and Kirtan extended SBM's lead while Vasanth Raj and Mahesh scored for Adiyaman. Meanwhile SAI `D' and Coorg Blues qualified for the final to be played here on Monday. SAI `D' bt Bangalore Friends 5-0 with Nidhesh 2, Lohith, Aiyamma and Bidappa scoring. Coorg Blues defeated DBHA `B' 6-1. Herenj 2, Gurjinder Singh 2, Rajesh Kumar and Almond sounded the boards for Coorg and DBHA lone goal came through Payas Kujur.
West Bengal is champion
West Bengal emerged team champion in the National acrobatics and trampoline gymnastics championship which concluded at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium here on Sunday. West Bengal topped with 49 points, while Maharashtra (47), Gujarat (35) and Tamil Nadu (32) occupied the subsequent slots.
Big win for BCYA `A'
Nagesh, Vijay and Palani scored a brace each to guide BCYA `A' to a 7-2 victory over Regal HC in a BEL Colony State level hockey tournament quarter-final match here on Sunday. Vinay also scored for the victors while Raghunath and Joseph chipped in for Regal. In another quarterfinal, Primrose HC defeated East India HC 3-0. Shiva (2) and Kiran scored for Primrose.
Easy for DYSH
Kalandar and Dada Nabi struck a brace each to help DYSH defeat Mohameddan Sporting 5-1 in a Bangalore Blues `B' division league match at the Football Stadium here on Sunday. Kiran Kumar also scored for the victors while Nauman scored Mohameddan Sporting's lone goal. Earlier, BUFC defeated HMT 4-0. Ramesh (2), Kishore and Kamal scored for BUFC.
