Tariq Ahmed Dar
NEW DELHI: Tariq Ahmed Dar, an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) conduit, who was arrested at Srinagar on November 10 by the Special Cell of the Delhi police, has purportedly revealed that the conspiracy to carry out the serial blasts was hatched in New Delhi in the first week of October. Based on information from him, the police have launched a hunt for at least four LeT militants, including three Pakistan nationals. At a press conference on Sunday, Delhi Police Commissioner K.K. Paul said a technical probe along with clues gathered from the explosion sites indicated that someone with a base in Jammu and Kashmir was involved. Subsequently, a Special Cell team was sent to Kashmir on November 2 to follow up the leads and on a specific input from intelligence agencies, it arrested Tariq, a resident of Solina Bala in Srinagar, on November 10. He was brought to the capital last Friday and produced in a court, which remanded him to 14 days police custody.
