HYDERABAD: MV Diabetes Clinic, Himayatnagar, launched `Diabetes risk scorecard,' an easy way to evaluate whether a person needs to get tested for diabetes. Director (Operations) of the clinic Ravikumar Parthasarathy said that the simple exercise, based on external measurements, can be tested by paramedics even at a remote primary healthcare centre. "It needs no infrastructure and comes at zero cost. We are aiming at prevention and early detection of this silent killer," he said. He said that while Hyderabad has emerged `diabetic capital' of India, Mumbai has the lowest incidence. He said that about four crore Indians are diabetic and the figure would go up in future. On the occasion of World Diabetes Day on November 14, a free cookery contest will be organised between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.Those interested can contact 30965590 or 939249525 for details, he said.
