Training programme on bakery products

Chennai: A one-day training programme on the preparation of bakery products will be organised at the Urban Horticulture Development Centre, TamilNadu Agricultural University, Kilpauk. The registration fee is Rs. 300. The fee includes a certificate, course material and lunch. The programme is on November 15 from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 26443551 for details.

Blood donation

A blood donation camp was conducted by Blood Bank of Indian Red Cross Society at Sree Balaji College of Physiotherapy. Thirty-six units of blood were collected.

Medical camp

Hindu Mission Hospital conducted a camp at Mannivakkam village on November 13 where 229 patients were treated for various ailments ranging from dental to eye to gynaecology.

Elocution contest

Velammal Matriculation School held its inter-school elocution competition recently.

It was conducted in English, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, with each language having three levels. Students from classes three to 12 participated in the competition.

Three-hour power talk

MILT Training Foundation (India) will be conducting a "3-hour power talk" by Aporesh Acharya on November 16.

It will be held at Kamaraj Memorial Hall. Funds collected through this seminar will go towards the maintenance of Snehalaya, a home for destitute children. Contributions are exempted under 80G of the Income Tax Act. Call 98400 74300 for more details.

Competition

Srinivas Youngmen's Association will conduct an inter-school competition in singing, quizzing, drawing and dancing on November 26 and 27 in at Triplicane. Entries for most competitions are through schools.
