ON THE MARCH: Schoolchildren walking in the `Mile a smile' rally organised by the Apex CoVantage on the occasion of the Children's Day on Monday.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy flagged off the Hyderabad leg of the second annual "Mile for a smile" rally on the occasion of Children's Day here on Monday at NTR Marg.

The three-city rally is organised by Apex CoVantage, a leading provider of global BPO services.

G. Vinod, Minister for Labour and Employment, Arjuna awardee Pullela Gopichand and Tejdeep Kaur Menon, Additional Commissioner of Police, walked along NTR Marg along with Apex employees and schoolchildren. President and co-founder of Apex CoVantage Shashikant Gupta was present.

Greets children

The Chief Minister greeted children and wished them good health.

Later, he presented cheques amounting to Rs. 1.2 crores on behalf of Apex CoVantage to community welfare organisations like Care Children's Heart Foundation, Arya Vidya Sabha, Manavodaya and Project Krushi.
