KOCHI: Outsource Partners International,Inc., a leading business process outsourcing firm specialising in finance and accounting services on Tuesday announced the opening of its state-of-the-art business process outsourcing service centre in Kochi. The 1,37,000-square feet centre, located in the Leela Inforpark at Kakkanad has the capacity to accommodate 2,000 associates and is designed to provide the highest level of security and privacy, said Kishore Mirchandani, president and CEO of OPI's Indian subsidiary Business Process Outsourcing Private Limited. The new centre in Kochi, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday, is expected to expand the global capacity of the company allowing it to support the rapid growth in demand for its services. The company aims to provide its clients with a unique onsite/offshore model that substantially reduces costs as well as improves financial reporting, Mr. Mirchandani told reporters here on Monday night. OPI had earlier launched a preliminary facility in Kochi with a capacity of 64 seats while it built out its new centre. OPI has also a shared service centre in Bangalore. According to Mr. Mirchandani, the establishment of the facility at Kochi would enable the company to take advantage of competitive labour and infrastructure costs when compared to those of Bangalore and other large cities.
