The recent initiative of the Union Human Resource Development Ministry to promote the cause of the single girl child has put many of the CBSE schools in the State in a fix. Following the Ministry's directive to provide free education and scholarships to every single girl child, the CBSE had asked the schools affiliated to it to implement the scheme immediately. The All Kerala CBSE Schools Managements Association had already come out openly against the directive citing it as ``unrealistic and impractical.'' What worries the managements is the Government's directive that the schools will have to pay for the fee waiving schemes from their own resources.
