Saudi Arabia allows SBI to open branches

DUBAI: Barely a week after joining the World Trade Organisation, Saudi Arabia has liberalised its banking sector by giving licence to State Bank of India and nine other foreign banks to open branches in the Kingdom, according to Muhammad Al-Jasser, Deputy Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the country's central bank.
