KC canal siphon collapses

KADAPA : A century-old KC canal siphon of Pathakadapa supply channel near built-up junction here collapsed on Tuesday resulting in leakage of nearly 80 cusecs of water into the Buggavanka stream course.

Water flow to Pathakadapa tank on the tailend of KC Canal ayacut was disrupted by the collapse of the siphon.

Water for some 4,000 acres of ayacut through the Pathakadapa and Ukkayapalle supply channels has been affected, according to Kadapa district Rythu Sangham general secretary D. Chandramouleeswara Reddy.
