Deserving award

The Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, N. Ram, truly deserves the "Sri Lanka Ratna" for his "unbiased coverage" of the ethnic strife in the island-nation for more than a decade. None of the other mainstream papers has covered the conflict so vividly and with such detail.

The Hindu has been in the forefront in exposing the tyranny of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka. The result: the conferring of Sri Lanka's highest award for non-nationals on Mr. Ram.
