LST to hold seminar on taking entrance test for law schools

CHENNAI: The advent of world-class law schools in India such as National Law School (Bangalore), NUJS (Kolkata), NALSAR (Hyderabad), NLU (Jodhpur) and NLIU (Bhopal) has greatly improved the profile of formal legal education in the country.

Graduating students from the national law schools this year were recruited at average salaries comparable to the top management schools. Admission to these national level colleges is based on an entrance test.

Barring NUJS Kolkata, the examination for which is held in end January/beginning February, the other colleges hold their entrance tests around May.

The examinations usually are of two-hour duration, containing both objective and subjective type questions. The subjects tested are: English, analytical reasoning (logic), legal reasoning, general knowledge (including legal awareness) and mathematics. A trainer for law entrance tests, LST, is organising a seminar on November 20 (Sunday-11 a.m.) in Chennai.
