CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday assured the people of the State that one member of each family would be provided employment opportunity in the next five years. He announced this while addressing a large gathering of Congress workers who had gathered in Bhiwani to pay rich tributes to the late Haryana Minister, Surender Singh, on his birth anniversary. It may be recalled that the late Surender Singh was killed in an air tragedy in March this year. Over 20,000 party workers donated blood at the blood donation camp which was inaugurated by Mr. Hooda. The Chief Minister reiterated the commitment of his Government to generate 5,000 MW of additional electricity so that the people in rural areas might get 20-22 hour power supply. Paying rich tributes to the late Minister, Mr. Hooda said that his last act had been to issue orders for the computerisation of all land records in the State. He assured that his regime would strive to realise the vision of the late leader. Speaking on the occasion, Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh described him as an honest and dedicated leader of the masses who had no lust for power. Kiran Chaudhary, the widow of the late leader and presently MLA of Tosham constituency, virtually broke down while assuring the people that she would uphold the high ideals of her late husband and live up to the expectations of his admirers.
