Probe into ant-bite death

Unfortunate, says Buddhadeb

KOLKATA: The West Bengal Government has ordered a probe into Tuesday's death of a woman, whose eye was bitten by ants in a state-run hospital in the city.

The incident was "very unfortunate," Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said here on Wednesday. The report was expected by Monday.

The bereaved family had lodged a police complaint of dereliction against the hospital authorities. Mr. Bhattacharjee said state-run hospital resources were being stretched to the limit.
