Vignan Utsav from November 25

There will be an aero modelling show and an exhibition-cum-sale of educational aids, books and science equipment

BANGALORE: As part of the World Year of Physics 2005, Vagdevi Vilas School is organising a two-day science fair featuring exhibits and working models on different aspects of science and technology and various competitions from November 25.

The fair, "Vagdevi Vignan Utsav", is open to students and teachers from all schools in the city and public.

It will include interschool competitions such as quiz, essay, photography; science exhibits drawing and painting and debate, school chairman K. Harish said.

He told presspersons on Wednesday that the science exhibits competition, on-the-spot painting and drawing competition and quiz competition is only for students whereas the drawing, essay and photography competitions are open to all.

Entries for these contests can be sent by post.

While the school will not charge any entry fee from the public, students and teachers will have to pay Rs. 10 to participate in every event, he said.

Debate contest

The debate competition is open for students and teachers. There will be an aero modelling show and an exhibition-cum-sale of educational aids, books and science equipment.

The former ISRO Chairman K. Kasturirangan will inaugurate the Vagdevi Science Tech Park. Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh will inaugurate the fair, he said. Brochures and entry forms have been despatched to over 1,300 schools in the city.
