Letters to the Editor
This refers to the news report, `Iran: Left sounds a note of warning' (Nov. 16). The Left parties' concern over the Iran nuclear issue appears genuine. By voting in favour of the International Atomic Energy Agency resolution against Iran, India should not compromise on its West Asian policy well as its energy interests. The best course for New Delhi would be to abstain from voting on the IAEA resolution.
A. Seshagiri Rao,
* * * It should be remembered that Iran is a member of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, which has repeatedly condemned India for its "occupation" of Jammu and Kashmir and the perceived atrocities committed by our armed forces in the State. Iran never abstained from voting against India.
