Kochi not game for football?

What was expected to be a momentous occasion turned out to be less of a crowd-puller. The Santosh Trophy football tournament, being held at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi, has attracted only a small crowd in the first-phase matches.

Some people feel that the event would have attracted more people had it been held in Malabar.

Is this a shame on Kochi which boasts of being an ideal centre to host any event?

The host city cannot be happy about the turnout.
