Sterlite Industries Q2 profit at Rs. 81 cr.

CHENNAI: Sterlite Industries India has posted a net profit after tax of Rs. 81.10 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 as compared to Rs. 49.27 crore in the year-ago period. Total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs. 1,739.39 crore from Rs. 1,041.20 crore. In the half year ended September 30, 2005 the net profit after tax was Rs. 120.17 crore as compared to Rs. 59.66 crore in the same period in the previous year.
