TIRUNELVELI: The police have registered a case against a student for teasing his teacher. The police said S. Mohammed Yousuf Sultan (17), a 10th standard student of a higher secondary school at Melapalayam, teased Sujatha (25) on several occasions. When he taunted the teacher again on the school premises on Wednesday, she told other male teachers in the vicinity. During enquiry, a teacher reportedly beat Sultan after the student abused other teachers also. However, Sultan field a complaint with the Melapalayam police and admitted himself in the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Subsequently, Ms. Sujatha filed a complaint with the Melapalayam police against Sultan.
Company burgled
The police are looking for the culprits, who burgled an insurance company at Sripuram under Tirunelveli Junction police station limits. They said the culprits gained entry into the office after breaking the rear door and took Rs. 5,500 from the chest. Based on a complaint from the regional manager, Rajagopal, they are investigating.
