City Engineering College wins match by default

BANGALORE: City Engineering College fell short of the target set by Atria Institute of technology in the eighth M.S. Ramaiah Memorial cricket tournament, but was declared winner after the latter was found to have fielded a non-bonafide player.

Chasing Atria's score of 199, City College was dismissed for 132 with Chetan (four for 22) doing the damage. But a subsequent protest won the day for the City EC team.

The scores: KNSIT 130 for nine in 25 overs lost to Sir MVIT 131 for three in 21.1 overs (Arjun 41 not out).

JSSATE 120 in 23.1 overs (Goutham 40) lost to SIT (Tumkur) 123 for two in 21.1 overs (Sudeep 45).

BIT 154 in 29.4 overs lost to KSIT 157 for no loss (Tarun 85 not out, Jeevan 55 not out).

Atria Inst. Of Tech. 199 (Manjunath 96) lost to City Engg. College 132 (Ashok 46, Chetan four for 22) on protest for fielding a non-bonafide player.

Football coaching camp

The Karnataka State Football Association will conduct a coaching camp for under-19 girls in Bangalore on Nov. 24. The team would represent the State in the Nationals to be held in Orissa. Interested players need to report at the venue at 8 a.m. on Nov. 24.

South Zone women's netball

The seventh South Zone netball championship for women will be held at the R.N. Stadium, Dharwad, from December 10 to 12. The Karnataka Amateur Netball Association will conduct selection trials to choose the State team for the event on November 28 at the Central College ground in Bangalore.
