Congress to counter TDP campaign on projects

HYDERABAD:
The Congress has decided to counter the campaign launched by the Telugu Desam Party against the irrigation projects and expose the neglect of Telangana region during the last nine years of rule in the State.
Congress MLA from Nirmal A. Indrakaran Reddy told reporters here on Thursday that the TDP's attempt to get closer to farmers by holding demonstrations and staging dharna was futile as people would not believe its commitment.
He appealed to all the Congress workers to take up a campaign in rural areas to expose the TDP, which was trying to create confusion in the minds of the people about the irrigation projects.
Mr. Reddy said that 13 major irrigation projects have been taken up in Telangana of which works on 11 are going on at brisk pace.
