Two film unit personnel killed in accident

ANANTAPUR: Two persons belonging to the Nagarjuna-starrer `Sree Ramadasu' film unit were killed and three others injured when the four-wheeler in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry coming in the opposite direction near Gooty in the district in the wee hours of Thursday. According to the police, three personnel of the film unit and the vehicle driver were returning to Hyderabad after shooting for the film in Mysore. Assistant director of the film Sunil Varma (50) and a relative of the film producer Ramaraju (63) were killed on the spot and another assistant director Aditya, Ravindrababu and vehicle driver Srinivas were seriously injured. - Staff Reporter

Man hacked to death

Sangareddy: Todum Malkaiah a 52-year-old farmer of Kavalampalli village of Munipally mandal was hacked to death allegedly by Gangaiah and Ashok of the same village on Wednesday night. According to Munipally SI Ravi Kumar the duo had served a jail sentence following a compliant by Malkaiah about a clandestine ganja operation. The two are absconding. - Staff Reporter

Bodies recovered

ADILABAD: The bodies of three persons drowned in the Penganga on Wednesday were recovered on Thursday by fishermen deployed for the purpose. The bodies of Talarula Laxmi (25) and her two-year-old son Siddharth belonging to Ponnari in Tamsi mandal were found floating near the bridge. Shala Nadipanna's body was recovered downstream. - Staff Reporter

SCR specials

HYDERABAD: South Central Railway will run specials between Kacheguda and Bangalore on November 21 and 23 and in the return direction on November 22 and 24 to clear the extra rush of passengers.

Train no. 787 will leave here at 9.40 p.m. on the said dates and reach Bangalore at 10.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, train no. 788 will leave Bangalore at 5.45 p.m. and reach Hyderabad the next day at 6.50 a.m. - Staff Reporter

Silver donated

Tirumala: An anonymous devotee on Thursday donated eight kg of silver ornaments to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. According to the temple sources, the devotee who had a darshan of Lord in the evening deposited the silver into the sacred hundi inside the temple. - Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: J. Ramachandra Rao has joined the Andhra Pradesh Telecom Circle as Chief General Manager, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. He assumed charge on Thursday. ANANTAPUR: An alleged dispute over a borewell between two farmers led to the felling of about 320 papaya plants belonging to one Rajasekhar at B. Pappur village in Narpala mandal late on Wednesday night. The farmer lodged a complaint with the police. - Staff Reporter

Three killed in road accidents

ANANTAPUR: One person was killed and three others were injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near Tadimarri on Thursday. The injured persons were rushed to Government Hospital at Dharmavaram.
