Engineer trapped

HYDERABAD:
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday night arrested an Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Raj department, N. Shankar Babu, working at Pendurthy in Visakhapatnam, on charge of accepting Rs. 10,000 bribe from a complainant.
He tested positive when subjected to a chemical test, a press release said. He was being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Visakhapatnam.
Held on graft charge
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) authorities on Thursday trapped a Junior Assistant working in Macherla Municipality of Guntur district, Shaik Jhani Basha, on charge of receiving Rs. 1,000 bribe from his office attender. He was being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Vijayawada, according to a press release.
Police SI trapped
Sub-Inspector of Godavarikhani One Town police station in Karimnagar district, S. Venkatagiri, was trapped by the ACB on charge of receiving Rs. 9,000 bribe from a complainant for not implicating the latter in a criminal case.
The tainted amount was recovered from his uniform, a press release said.
He was being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad.
