BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) will start from Monday repair work on the Silver Jubilee Park (SJP) Road, which was badly damaged during the recent rains. It is being taken up under the emergency relief works. According to a press release, the work has been entrusted to the Karnataka Land Army Corporation. "Work will start from Monday and will be executed without any break till it is completed," the release said. BMP Commissioner K. Jothiramalingam has directed the zonal Deputy Commissioners and Chief Engineers to take up a four-day special drive from November 19 to fill all the potholes on arterial and sub-arterial roads in the BMP limits. Additional gangmen have been deployed to execute the work along with the regular staff in each of the 14 divisions. Work on restoration and pothole filling will be executed during the nights. The Commissioner has instructed officials to give special attention and restore badly damaged roads such as KH Road, 100-foot road in Indiranagar and roads leading to the Kempegowda Bus Station. Repair of interior roads will be taken up after the restoration of arterial and sub-arterial roads is completed, the release added.
