Child beggars: directive to State

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court did not appreciate the action of the Government in not taking effective steps and informing about the ground realities regarding begging on twin cities roads especially by helpless children.

The Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice R. Subhash Reddy was hearing a writ petition filed in public interest by Malathi, a practising advocate. She brought to the notice of the court about the menace of the begging and how innocent people are being exploited. The Bench pointed out that every day everyone is seeing innocent children on the streets begging and court felt that it is high time for the Government to react on the reality.
