Cooperative Week fete ends

KOCHI: The district-level concluding ceremony of the All India Cooperative Week celebrations, which began on November 14, will be held at Kuzhuppilly on Saturday.

The valedictory programmes will begin in the morning with a seminar on `Achieving Competency for Cooperative Movement in the Changing World.' The seminar will be inaugurated by the Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan. P.R. Chandramohan will present the topic. The former Electricity Minister S. Sarma will deliver the keynote address. Cooperative Societies joint registrar P. Vasudevan will act as the moderator of the seminar.

The former Revenue Minister K.E. Ismail will release the souvenir volume of the Cooperatives Centenary celebrations. State Cooperative Bank director Babu Paul, District Cooperative Bank director K.K. Syamalan and others will speak.

In afternoon, a rally of the members of cooperative banks will be taken out from the Cherai branch premises of Pallippuram Service Cooperative Bank.

The public meeting to be held in the evening will be inaugurated by Minister for Cooperation M.V. Raghavan.
